Why fill the space?

Today I spent a while thinking, “what shall I write about for my blog?” Time passed, ideas came and went, but nothing felt appropriate, but then it struck me, why am I trying to fill the space? So today’s message is this: look at the blank space pictured and clear your mind for just a minute (or more)!

Ironic really, that I was trying to fill a space with words, when much of meditational practice is asking us to clear our mind and to keep the mind still!
So that’s all the message is today: take this as an opportunity to be quiet for a moment, and reflect on your urge to keep filling the spaces in your mind. To keep busy and engaged all the time is not always the best course of action to take, and it takes a reminder like this, to pause and stop, just for a moment.
Ask yourself, why are you always in a hurry, filling up your time, pressured to keep up…. As the tortoise and the hare story warned us, being in a hurry, feeling the need to be busy all the time is not always the best way of reaching your destination.
