Inside Yoga 152 (7/12/15)

In 2000 photographer Michael O’Neill had spinal surgery and was partially paralysed. His doctors told him he would never use his right arm again. Today he has the use of his right arm due to yoga.

O’Neill says yoga really helped him to rebuild his body and have faith in his ability to use his hand again. In a short film, he says that yoga and meditation allowed him to find his own spirituality and let it blossom. He adds that he thinks that yoga helps change the direction of your life, and that the remarkable thing is that it is free.

As part of his journey via yoga he has published a photography book about yoga, called “On Yoga: The Architecture of Peace”. There is also a major exhibition at TASCHEN Gallery in Los Angeles which brings together over a decade of photography dedicated to yoga and its greatest practitioners around the world.
