Inside Yoga 175 (5/9/16)

The summer is over and autumn is doing its very best to blow through and while this is going on some of us are gearing up for the new term: with holidays over and back to work being the order of the day.

This is the moment when we might want to take stock of where we are both physically and emotionally… and this is why you have a picture of Tadasana, the mountain pose – a simple but effective standing posture.

Standing still and taking stock is an important. It offers us an opportunity to listen and see where we are and how we feel. This position represents stillness, steadiness and awareness. Feeling rushed? Stop, stand still and establish as sense of calm awareness. Then move on.

This can apply in daily life as well with your yoga practice: start your practice standing still in tadasana… then decide what exercise is to follow. Do this with slow and conscience awareness, with steady deep breathing: then you will see why this posture is so beneficial and important.

That’s all for now, enjoy practising, and for those in Bristol, see you at one my classes soon.
